Jobs that keep you in shape
"Easy" as these tasks may seem, when you get down to it, they aren't easy at all. After all, who wants to spend their day trying to balance on a ball or sweating profusely at their $1,600 desk (the approximate cost of the vertical workstation)?
Instead of trying to tone up before, during or after work, why not find a job that is a workout in and of itself? We're not talking about the typical fitness occupations, like a personal trainer or an aerobics instructor. We're talking about childcare workers, painters and messengers (to name a few)
A Belgian writer has admitted that she made up her best-selling
Her two Brussels-based lawyers, siblings Nathalie and Marc Uyttendaele, said the author acknowledged her story was not autobiographical and that she did not trek 1,900 miles as a child across Europe with a pack of wolves in search of her deported parents during World War II.
"I ask forgiveness to all who felt betrayed," Defonseca said, according to a written statement the lawyers gave to The Associated Press.
Defonseca, 71, now lives in Dudley, Massachusetts. Her husband, Maurice, told The Boston Globe on Thursday that she would not comment.Defonseca wrote in her book that Nazis seized her parents when she was a child, forcing her to wander the forests and villages of Europe alone for four years. She claimed she found herself trapped in the Warsaw ghetto, killed a Nazi soldier in self-defense and was adopted by a pack of wolves that protected her

Senior White House aide admits plagiarism
The White House aide admits he plagiarized in an essay he wrote.
In an e-mail to The News-Sentinel, Tim Goeglein, special assistant to the president and deputy director of public liaison, apologizes, saying, "It is true. I am entirely at fault. It was wrong of me. There are no excuses."
Goeglein goes on to say he has reached out to the author, Jeffery Hart, whose 1998 writings in the Dartmouth Review he copied nearly verbatim.
"I have written to Jeff to apologize, and do so categorically and without exception," he said.
The White House press office provided the e-mail to CNN. Spokeswoman Emily Lawrimore said the White House was made aware of Goeglein's column and actions Friday morning.

Jury hears actor John Ritter's final message to wife
Amy Yasbeck, widow of actor John Ritter, walks in to court to testify in her lawsuit over his death.
Ritter's widow, Amy Yasbeck, testified Thursday that the message was left just before he was taken to a hospital from the set of his hit TV show "8 Simple Rules ... for Dating My Teenage Daughter."
In the message, Ritter said, "Hi honey, this is John. I'm in my dressing room and not feeling very well. I think I have food poisoning. ... They're going to call a doctor to look at me."
Yasbeck said she spoke to Ritter when he called back a few minutes later to say he was going to probably miss an event at his daughter Stella's school that evening.
"He called back and said, 'Now I'm having chest pains and the nurse is coming and they're going to take me across the street,"' Yasbeck testified through tears.
Body of model found in Paris river
Known simply as Katoucha, the former top model for Yves Saint Laurent and other top designers was found Thursday near the Garigliano bridge in Paris, judicial police in Paris said.
An autopsy showed no signs of foul play, pointing to the possibility that the 47-year-old may have fallen accidentally into the river, they said.
She had been missing since January and was last seen returning home from a party. She lived in a houseboat near Paris' Alexandre III bridge, and her handbag was later found on the boat.
The Guinean-born model told The Associated Press in 1994 that she ran away to Europe at 17 aiming to be a model. Her big break came when Jules-Francois Crahay, then the designer at Lanvin, spotted her in a line-up. The label hired her as a fitting model. Her first catwalk modeling was for Thierry Mugler at the start of the 1980s.
obama, Clinton battle in Texas just days before key primary
The Obama campaign, as well as former President Bill Clinton, say the New York Democrat must do well in Texas and Ohio on March 4 if she is to continue to battle for the Democratic nomination.
Voters in Vermont and Rhode Island will also head to the polls next Tuesday.
The Clinton campaign Friday launched a new television ad in Texas that portrays its candidate as the best-prepared to take on foreign crises.
In the ad, a phone rings insistently over images of sleeping children.
"Your vote will decide who answers the call," the ad's narrator says. "Whether it's someone who already knows the world's leaders, knows the military. Someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world."
The ad's narrator then asks, "Who do you want answering the phone [at 3 a.m.]
picked up the ad's theme while on the campaign trail in Waco, Texas, on Friday.
"I also understand completely what it means when that phone rings at 3 a.m. There isn't any time to convene advisers, to do a survey about what will or will not be popular. You have to make a decision," she said.

Prince Harry
LONDON, England (CNN) -- Prince Harry has been withdrawn from Afghanistan because of the media's disclosure of his deployment there, the British Ministry of Defense said Friday.
Prince Harry's tour of duty in Afghanistan has ended following media reports of his deployment.
The prince had been deployed to Afghanistan since December. Major news outlets agreed to keep the information secret for security reasons, but a Web site broke the news blackout Thursday, prompting the British military to withdraw the prince for security reasons.
"This decision has been taken primarily on the basis that the worldwide media coverage of Prince Harry in Afghanistan could impact on the security of those who are deployed there, as well as the risks to him as an individual soldier," the Ministry of Defense said in a statement issued Friday.
